SunHolidays.ie is an online travel agent specialising in holidays from Ireland. Customers can choose from an array of destinations, from the exotic beaches of Barbados and the stunning havens of Lake Garda, to the lively and effervescent Las Vegas.
We were provided with a brief to help our existing client Bookabed launch a new B2C online travel company called Sunholidays. The brief included a full branding and responsive website UI design phase. The new branding and design would be built onto the existing platform and technology currently powering the parent Bookabed website. The final deliverables included logo, colour palette, typography, imagery guidelines and tone of voice along with a set of designs for a new homepage, search results, extras upsell, passenger information, booking summary, payment, confirmation, content landing page and travel guides. Each template was to be handed over to the third party development team with a full set of development hand over notes and SEO mark-up. Each template had 4 designs produced covering all media queries set out in a bootstrap grid system.
We used feedback from Bookabed customers and existing travel knowledge to produce a new homepage that focused primarily on the holiday search which is then supported by key confidence messaging around financial protection and quality of service followed by lead in prices to popular destinations determined by booking and enquiry data. The designs for the booking flow were designed with Bookabed in mind; we adopted all of the success from that project and addressed any user experience issues for the new Sunholidays project but with the aim to incorporate the changes into the existing UI and have both brands share the same interface and be separated by product and branding. The new logo and branding was produced playing on the symbol of a sun but incorporating the clients requirements of instilling bright colours throughout.
Since the launch of Sunholidays the client has stated his pleasure in the success of the initial launch and as such had asked CSI Media to review and provide recommendations on the other existing B2C brands.
